Icarus is the son of Ikaris in the comics.

Phastos and Makkari created high tech wings so the son can fly with his eternal father, but cats in the cradle shenanigans happen and Ikaris was gone for a while fighting deviants and thus the son went looking for his father and died due to the high tech flying machine which he had yet to master.

Thus Ikaris took the name Ikaris in memory of Icarus his son.
