I watched all three and tried to do so from the perspective of someone who has never heard of TWoT. From that perspective, I felt that such people would be confused, not just about who the characters were, but also about the motivations of the characters. More specifically, another confusing bit was calling Myrdraal by all their different "nicknames" without explanation.
