But I am starting to hate the show as a whole for being a missed opportunity.

Instead of focusing on the "Dragon" mystery, they should have played up the Rand's clues for being the DR, and also Moiraine's evasive answers for her interest in him. Give the viewers a sense of doom, as Rand is led like a lamb to the slaughter by this relentless woman.
Make him a Leto Atreidis until he reaches the Eye of the World.

The stupid "Dragon" mystery is annoying because they keep throwing the word Dragon around without the negative damnation that should be associated with it. Sure, they showed Logain as an example of a damned false Dragon but I feel they keep undermining this concept by the casualness they talk about possible Dragons.

Maybe it is a result of adding women as possible Dragons. Emoting "The Dragon Reborn is damned to break the world, go insane if a man, but just be an awesome Aes Sedai if a woman" could be too complicated for actors and audience.
