I'm withholding judgment on it so far. I mean, I don't think Mandalorian is all THAT much better. Looping in folks like Ahsoka, Bo Katan, et al is cool, but at the end of the day it's not really about plot or character, it's about remixing archetypes in fun and cool ways - just like the original Star Wars did.

This is not to say it's a BAD show, but it's not going to be Breaking Bad, Sopranos, or even Justified.
To be fair, the first season of Mandalorian was better than the second, in part precisely because it wasn't overloaded with cameos like the second season was. The biggest issue I have with BoB is that so far it gets Boba Fett completely wrong. Yeah, the Vespa gang and the janky chase scene were stupid but ultimately they're minor annoyances. The main issue is the characterisation of the main character. Still going to finish it, but I don't think it lives up to the Mandalorian.
