I told my director yesterday that I will definitely be retiring at year end. He has already notified HR and NA logistics leadership and will soon post my job to hire a replacement. I've been talking about it for almost a year. It's nice to finally have a set finish line.

So, I'm officially a short-timer, counting down the days until the next phase.
I’ve been working for almost 55 years. I’m a little nervous but it’s definitely time.
I also quit my job, although only after I had been offered a position at a new school, much larger than the one I've been at for almost 12 years.
