The Republicans, true to form, have not learned from the past and decided "hey let's piss off women in an election year", again, only this time they decided to add the gays and the straights also by threatening gay marriage, contraception and IVF.

Sometimes that doesn't matter (like 2016), but when the Dems simply let the GOP tie the noose and jump, there's plenty of political gain to be had without having to resort to supporting deranged lunatics in the hope that they'll be easier to defeat in the general.
