My fear is we will continue to see escalating investigations driven solely by partisan politics. From both sides of the aisle. I simply stated above that at one time, the overwhelming majority of the nation agreed this was bad. Not so much anymore.
That's a well founded fear. But there is a genuine countervailing argument here. Isn't giving Trump the ability to break so many laws with impunity saying something about paw and order?
Are you really comfortable with the idea that becoming President is a get out of jail free card? Whatever the absurdity of the claims, Clinton, and plenty of other politicians, have still gone through the investigation/questioning because they respect the rule of law.
In this case, we've had a subpoena that's been ignored for months. It's only rumors for now, but apparently papers related to nuclear weapons are the documents the FBI wanted. If that's proved to be true, should Trump be allowed to do something like this? If so, why?
