Is there anyone who is supposed to be sympathetic? In Game of Thrones it was the Starks, who were supposed to be (at least initially) the "good guys", because they weren't committing incest and murder and rape and torture. They also had a camaraderie of brothers and sisters, unlike the other families where the brothers and sisters and even parents and children were plotting against one another (Daenerys's brother, Tyrion getting shit on by everyone, Stannis and Renly with competing claims to the same throne, Stannis willing to kill his own daughter, etc.).

While that sort of changed, with Arya becoming a vicious assassin with no remorse and Sansa having PTSD from Ramsay, and Bran becoming Children of the Corn, and Jon finding out he wasn't even partially a Stark, clearly they were the mechanism by which the audience was supposed to enter the world and form initial opinions.

In this series there's no one we can really like. Doctor Who does a terrible job acting and plays someone too distant to be likeable for being bad. Resting bitch face girl looks like she's 14 and is ugly and unlikeable. Young queen is stupid and naive. Old king is stupid and naive and grossly negligent or criminally reckless in his decisions. The baby is still just crying and shitting. The black guy is tangential and his wife is tangential and their kids are sort of without any real definition. Old Hand was really clumsy in his obvious machinations, New Hand looks like Jack Black wondering where the fast food delivery is. Kingsguard friend with benefits seems really stupid - first he breaks a bunch of oaths, then he seems to think he can marry resting bitch face girl, then he seems to realize he can't, but then he beats the husband's lover to death at the wedding feast for no apparent reason (this is why we can't have nice things), then he's going to off himself but doesn't because Young Queen sees him - seriously, make up your mind already.

Where is the person I'm supposed to sympathize with? Feed them all to the dragons, not just the girl.
