Are you referring by that term only to the main liberal media like MSNBC, CNN or the NYT? Or the liberal media plus the WSJ, as the arguably most prestigious conservative media source but which does tend to be more aligned to the Republican 'establishment', to the extent that still exists today?

I'm asking because considering the size and influence of Fox, as well as the various newer right-wing channels and websites, it seems rather misleading to exclude them from your definition of 'mainstream'. Unless you're referring to stories that you also wouldn't see on Fox or other 'conservative mainstream' news sources...
