I am making a pun on the fact in Latin and Greece the word for to libate is tied to many other words such as
spondere “give assurance, promise solemnly," from the earlier spondeio which means “to libate” (you are pouring wine onto the ground or another form of offering / sacrifice)
the same Latin root is used to form these words
spouse
sponsor
response / respond
correspond
despondent and so on
The equivalent word in Greek would be σπένδω (spéndō, “to libate”) which means to drink but also to make a treaty. Note there are way more words used in the Bible in Greek, Hebrew, Latin for to pour out a liquid sacrifice as a promise. This Bible study was not meant to be comprehensive

As for me I would have words with God if we meet face to face. 
Unless God is Dionysus then we are cool and can see eye to eye. Last time I had a drink was 4 or so days ago and it was a bad experience. Just a drink or two but anxiety got triggered, and then lost power three times at night (not during the day) for the Texas energy grid SUCKS and we have horrible temperatures. It was 108 F plus swampy humidity in Houston today
