View original postIt might explain a lot, no? Is it a shit QC problem? Maybe God just has a dark sense of humor. He must have a sense of humor, Shirley. Was he ever funny in the Bible? I don’t recall. Probably not in the OT. Late summer barbecues are awesome. Fresh corn straight from my friend’s yard, cooked right after getting picked. He’s got to go in for a triple bypass soon. It’s put me in a funny mood. I’ve probably had one too many. Did I have an edible?

View original postWe have to give him an offering from time to time, of fresh wine got to get the gods attention to remind him to honor his promises

View original postI am making a pun on the fact in Latin and Greece the word for to libate is tied to many other words such as

View original postspondere “give assurance, promise solemnly," from the earlier spondeio which means “to libate” (you are pouring wine onto the ground or another form of offering / sacrifice)

View original postthe same Latin root is used to form these words

View original postThe equivalent word in Greek would be σπένδω (spéndō, “to libate”) which means to drink but also to make a treaty. Note there are way more words used in the Bible in Greek, Hebrew, Latin for to pour out a liquid sacrifice as a promise. This Bible study was not meant to be comprehensive

View original postAs for me I would have words with God if we meet face to face.

Same here.
View original postUnless God is Dionysus then we are cool and can see eye to eye. Last time I had a drink was 4 or so days ago and it was a bad experience. Just a drink or two but anxiety got triggered, and then lost power three times at night (not during the day) for the Texas energy grid SUCKS and we have horrible temperatures. It was 108 F plus swampy humidity in Houston today

Sounds brutal. I had a day without power after a typhoon once, but it was only 90-95 and swampy. Took lots of cool showers. Still sucked, though. Toweling myself dry was a never-ending process because of the insane humidity.
