When I train Jedi or Sith, step 2 of that is going to be 'remove in a transverse direction, toward your impaled opponent's lightsaber, or better yet, their saber arm'

1) As they die, you are blocking whatever last-ditch effort they might have to get you back

2) You do more damage as your lightsaber exits if you cut through their other organs, spine, pelvis, or skull (or more than one!)

3) Every Jedi and Sith should know by now, straight in and straight back out never kills unless it's Qui Gon.

It really shows that you haven't seen Rebels. Rebels, Clone Wars season 7, and the three Ahsoka "Tales of the Jedi" episodes are some of her best stuff. Though she's not really a 'main' character of Rebels, and only shows up because Kainan isn't a real Jedi, and Ezra as his pupil has an even bigger handicap to become a real Jedi.

Episode 3 is worse. Between the Clone Wars and Rebels, Ahsoka probably has the best character arc in Star Wars. Look how they're massacring my girl.

Hollywood has the best moral compass, because it has compassion.
Also every LS combatant should do this, every time.
