While words are necessary in a radio broadcast to describe what the listener can't see, it is still possible and even likely that there will be an abundance of inane and worthless comments. It is helpful for the commentator to inform the listeners that the defense is not able to generate any pressure on the quarterback. But continuing on to inform us that allowing the QB to wait until a receiver breaks open with no fear of being sacked is a recipe for defensive failure is a Captain Obvious moment. Which happens far too often.
Ah right, you're a fan of the Kansas City Swifties! Their offense is behind the defense right now, but I'm sure they'll shake it off!
