You gotta read HARROW and NONA! Or Leckie's ANCILLARY JUSTICE. Ghavrel Send a noteboard - 24/01/2024 04:36:57 AM

View original postIt wasn't a phenomenal novel.

I've also heard some serious questions as to the ethics of publishing it at all, whether Lee was in any state to give approval anymore by that time.
View original postETA: You've read Leckie's ANCILLARY JUSTICE and Yoon Ha Lee's NINEFOX GAMBIT, right?

I have not. Honestly, I've read very, very little science fiction, whether classic or more recent... Childhood's End, Solaris, Left Hand of Darkness and part of The Dispossessed, The Sparrow, Consider Phlebas, Memory Called Empire and its sequel, Gideon the Ninth and I think that's just about it.

"We feel safe when we read what we recognise, what does not challenge our way of thinking.... a steady acceptance of pre-arranged patterns leads to the inability to question what we are told."
