The San-ti tell Jonathan Pryce they can't lie because they can read each other's minds. If that's the case, how was the "pacifist" who said "Do not reply" ever going to hide the communication from Earth? If asked, presumably he can't lie, and how could he even omit to say anything if they can read minds? It doesn't really make sense.

Presumably once he was aware of the communication, then they all were aware of it. Assuming it's a hive mind situation. I haven't read the books. Perhaps there's an explanation there that the showrunners didn't include.
