Culturally, I honestly think the country would crack like an egg. Not that it isn't getting there anyway, but this would catalyze those cracks into gasping chasms. Right now you have half of America brainwashed to hate the other half. This would reverse the sentiment the other way.
How quickly would the lone gunman have become dogma?
