Obviously, the big story here is the housepet with a huge following on Instagram. That he was also trying to save a raccoon muddies the waters.
I would think as a former public defender in a state where abuse of power by law enforcement was and is commonplace, the concept of officials of the state forcing entry into one's home under the umbrella of public safety would be anathema to you.
