They hate uncertainties, and Trump winning was the less uncertain alternative considering all his talk about the last election. Hence the markets go up. Now what happens when he sets more details in the proposed tariffs etc remains to be seen, but quite a few economists consider that bad news for American consumers (maybe not companies so much, though).
