We should all express our gratitude to the Democratic side of the aisle. EDIT damookster Send a noteboard - 05/03/2025 03:24:09 PM

They provided a virtually limitless amount of meme fodder with their carefully thought out demonstrations of resistance last night. The auction bid signs alone was a gift that just keeps on giving! What a masterpiece of opposition strategy! It is certain to be the focal point of political science studies for decades.

Also, just gotta say, sitting on your hands, stonefaced, while a 13 year old cancer survivor was being honored was also a great look. Kudos to whomever plotted that one. No doubt the entire nation admired your display of solidarity.

But let's give credit when credit is due. One Democratic Senator broke ranks and applauded. The pseudo indigenous Senator from the great state of Massachusetts, amirite?

EDIT

It would be remiss if I didn't highlight the solitary Democrat who joined the Republican side of the aisle in the standing ovation for 13 year old cancer survivor DJ Daniel. Rep. Laura Gillen, D-NY from New York's 4th District. She alone stood to honor this young man, and called out her colleagues afterwards. Here is the quote:

"Quite frankly, there were moments where, I feel like, anger at some of the actions that have happened over the last month and a half have prevented some of my colleagues from standing up to support the little DJ Daniel. I stood up and applauded this little boy who is getting over cancer and wants to be a police officer, and I was disappointed that I was not joined by any of my colleagues."
