Supposedly Colton Hood, the corner they got in the second round, was good enough for the first round, and the #2 CB in the draft, and since KC jumped ahead of the Giants to take the #1, he was the best left. They traded up to the third round for a receiver, because that worked so well with Jalin Hyatt. Except this guy is not so much speedy, as a big receiver, whose stock fell because of his drop issues. Because we didn't already have a Theo Johnson, or spend 13 million a year on a free agent TE in the off-season, while losing our small, shifty guy who was a reliable target.

I forget about the lovely tendency of new head coaches to drag over personnel from their last team, often at the expense of established just fine players currently on the roster. Like Dan Reeves jettisoning Matt Bahr, Pepper Johnson & Ed McCaffrey, to swap in his PAIR of place-kickers from Denver, and Michael Brooks. Brooks had about half the remaining career as Johnson, who made the Pro Bowl with his new team, and David Treadwell was a definite downgrade from Bahr. Bahr used to run up and make tackles on kickoffs. Reeves didn't even trust Treadwell to make the kicks, and had Daluiso exclusively for that purpose, with Treadwell taking up a roster spot for the better part of two seasons, just to kick short-range field goals. And of course, there was Brian Daboll, who, with Schoen, signed Devin "Motor" Singletary while letting Saquon Barkley walk, and celebrating on "Hard Knocks" as if he was an upgrade. And Singletary proceeded to get pushed down the depth chart each of his next two seasons by Day 3 rookies. We're paying the third year of a contract with an AAV $5.5 million, for a third string RB. Cap room? Who needs it?
