I'd seen one episode a little under halfway through as an intro from a friend so when I went back to watch it from Ep 1 I knew he was the villain, I had expected the move to the darkside to take a little longer than one episode though, cackling about godhood before the the episode finishes is not so much a gradual descent to darkness as a bullet train. But he was, in some ways, a sympathetic character occasionally, but its really about the complex scheming, I do tend to root for the 'bad guy' a lot though. But choice of medium matters, I watched the english dubbed cartoon, for instance, like Revenge of the Sith, the movie sucked but I loved it because I was in the field when it came out and read the book, which gives Vader a very logical and sympathetic path to evil as opposed to the movie, which when I saw it was brutally painful. Pages of rational dialog disappear into what amounts to "I'm evil, join me!" "No, you're evil!" "Yes, evil, MWAHAHAHA, join me!" "So be it, master" "Go kill children now!"



Yeah, that's on my list to do as another recommended series to my tastes
