A group of four townspeople stand around the blood-spattered coffin, looking down sadly at its late inhabitant. Unlike most, Garret hadn’t been dead when he climbed inside.

“That just ain’t right.” The old man shook his head.

“It’s terrible that the young should die,” the thin, bespectacled man replies quietly.

“Oh! No, I meant making that poor boy sleep in a coffin,” the old man gives the portly Undertaker the stink eye, though it’s hard to tell under his bushy eyebrows.

The Undertaker shrugs. “It’s cheaper than a bed.” Mayor Dark gives him a curious look, but those who know the Undertaker well can tell he’s deeply saddened by the murder of his apprentice, and not just because Garret was hardworking and obedient.

They stand at the side of corpse for a few moments more, each wrapped in their own thoughts. The old man mutters to himself about how much better things were in his day, though none of his companions pays him any attention.

“Well,” says the Mayor, turning her back on the dead. “It’s time to wake the others.”

The Undertaker nods, face stony. “It’s time to find the murders.” This sentiment, at least, is one the old man can agree with.

Gher was killed during the Night. Day 2 has begun, and will end with the Lynch of one of your fellows at the hands of an angry mob. With 11 townsfolk alive, 6 votes are required to Lynch.
