It seemed to me too massive a failure to be anything other than a genuine error, because the lie didn't benefit him even if he was scum - either Gher was telling the truth, and ? should have realised Gher would call him out on that lie, or Gher was lying - which would have also been stupid, except on Gher's part because if ? died and was revealed not to be a mason, Gher would die immediately.

Of course, my reasonings are based on what I would have done - I remember Cor Aman trying to call me out as a mason ally one game where we were both scum and I immediately denied it and got Cor Aman lynched instead. In fact, I've been surprised time and again by the loyalty masons are willing to afford even to their obviously scummy allies - I think it was in Isaac's Mad Muad game that masons were allowing their ally to get away with lying.

So maybe it's just luck that I turned out to be right this time.

Anyway, the real question here is why hasn't Stephen been lynched yet?
