Survey

1. Do you favor rigid deadlines, semi-flexible but announced deadlines, post-slump activated deadlines, no deadlines, or something else?

2. Do you want to see clues play a bigger or smaller role in games?


Smaller.

3. How about roles? Have we had too many, too few, just right? Do you like to see role variants in play or would you like to see a bit less experimentation with that?


Lately, we've been at a good number. I hate seeing games with no either 1 vanilla or no vanillas. It just gets too complicated.

4. Any roles you feel we see too much of, or not enough of, or that you absolutely despise?

5. How about sub-plots, midgame ‘Events’ or micro-games, do they interfere with or enhance the game?


Generally, I don't like them. I dislike mod interference generally because they know the roles and could potentially tilt the scales. If there is a major post slump, it can be useful but only then. If it interrupts conversations or how the game is flowing, it could be bad :(.

6. How about inactivity? Of the various options, from modkill to substitution, which do you prefer, and should we be ramping up enforcement or dialing it down? How many days is too many or too few, and should prior activity factor into it?


We need to have on-board warnings for inactivity and keep a better record. I don't often log in to RAFO so I generally wouldn't see NBs. The set we're at right now is good.

Keep in mind none of this is binding on any other mod, or me for that matter, I’m just trying to check which way the winds blowing while my setup has some flexibility, you can comment generally or specifically. Incidentally I’m currently favoring two deadline methods, the ‘Countdown’ and “Bodycount” methods. The former just starts with say 14 days for a day and drops 1 day for each subsequent game Day, so day 2 would be 13 days long, 3 12 days, etc, as maximums only of course. Bodycount Method just makes days max out in duration equal to the current number of surviving players, so come day 6 with 5 players left there’s only 5 days to lynch someone.
