You're back at Mac’s when Luccio storms in, followed by the other two wardens, apparently continuing a conversation they were having outside.
“… Half the building burned, and I didn’t want to get too close. He’s dead though, and I overhead the police say he’d been cut up strange. Anything from Decker?” Luccio ask.
The warden shakes his head. “He wouldn’t tell me anything, but I’m sure he knows something. Scared too, too scared to be afraid of me. I can go back and lean on him harder if you –“
“No, probably not worth the effort.” Luccio turns and looks at you. “Our new lead just went up in smoke, literally… you’re on your own. Mac, I could use something to wash the taste of smoke and failure form my mouth.”
Mac slides her a beer.
