A light I see but is it me?
The lidless eye that ‘lone can see

This bit stands out to me mostly because the 'lidless eye' is pretty much a reference to Lord of the Rings, it doesn't show up much of anywhere but the other context is usually as a either a never sleeping guardian or some sort of Third-Eye and reference to sixth sight, I recall the latter interpretation as when I thought the poem was just my own flavor I wondered if it might reference how I copped people.

Echo the sounds of my pursuit
CONFOUND, CONFOUND, confound…

Seeking answers I traveled near
(‘twas not a question worth venturing far)
I found a man on a mountaintop
Who bid me stop
To stay awhile, and hear:

“Trust no one!” said he, looking grim
(‘twas not the question I was asking)
But I ignored him and did not stay
Because who was he to say
I did not, in the end, trust him.

This second section, our Day 1 intro, seems when viewed in the right light to sound an awful lot like a not too subtle hint of extreme paranoia on the part of the narrator and the guy on the mountain he's talking to.

“I know something you don’t know”
But I didn’t trust his tales, oh no.
For the truth is mine alone to show
This at least I know.

Taken in light of previous circumstances, the first stanza of the Day 2 poem seems to reinforce the prior points, if one figures one or both of the cops (assuming we don't have more) both get guilty responses, it would seem very probable that this is a hint as to how those two would be likely to act if they confronted each other, add in Fox's claim I just saw a second ago of Day Cop viable as of day 2 and I think my semi-paranoid guess at the top of the day that we had overlapping roles might be basically on the money.

For the voice on high will conceal
And the dead may keep their tales
But the man in the lake’s details
Were to be part of the deal.

Still can't put an interpretation on this besides the voice non high being the Mod.
