The world you live in is one of sharp contrast. People are constantly dying in the sleepy Californian town of Sunnydale, but other than that, life is sweet. The climate's nice, there's always a cool band playing down at The Bronze... life is good! For those that aren't killed in "gang related incidents" and the like, anyway.

Of course, you know they're not "gang related incidents." They're vampire attacks. Or ritual sacrifices. Or maybe someone's soul got sucked out by a mummy. It happens. Sunnydale was built over a Hellmouth, which means, essentially, that weird, deadly stuff sometimes happens.

And now it's happening again. You're all in a... library, it looks like? But the doors are locked, the windows barred, and there's an ominous-looking hole in the ground.

Oh, and none of you recognize anyone else.

*clap* *clap* *clap* You turn, and see a middle aged blonde woman with a smirk on her face come walking down the stairs.

"You should see the expression on your faces. It's honestly... wow. I mean, I think of all humans as sheep, but this is crazy,"

"Some of you may know me as our beloved Slayer's mother, Joyce. I figured it was an appropriate form for me to take, seeing as I'm about to host the mother of all slumber parties, eh?" She rolls her eyes at your bemused expressions, obviously tiring of you.

"Listen, here's the deal. I'm the First Evil. As in, In The Beginning There Was Darkness, and so on. And I feel like having a bit of... fun. So I drew you all here. Some of you may have thought you had your own reasons for coming, but let me assure you, you are here by my whim."

"I've been watching you all throughout the years and some of you... amuse me. Some of you were more fun a few years ago, and some of you might be more fun a few years from now, so I may have made some slight... adjustments, here and there, but you're all still you. I just poked around in your brain a bit, no big deal."

"Some of you may or may not be bloodthirsty monsters. Others of you may or may not be delicious humans. Monsters, eat the humans, and you'll be richly rewarded with a cushy job- I'm getting back to basics, focusing more on the "hideous monstrosity" angle and less on the "redneck preacher" motif for my minions.

"Humans, see this hole? It's the Hellmouth. Remember that? Yeah, so, if you don't push someone in that hole once every 24 hours, it will eat you. And if all my potential new employees are killed, you go free." She spreads her arms in a magnanimous gesture, as if you should be thanking her for such generosity.

"Get to it!"
