...still barely breathing! Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 02/01/2013 06:35:05 AM
That was a relief. However, there was no cause to celebrate just yet. The night was cool, and the ocean colder. I carried her over the rocky beach, safely away from the water, but I could see that the woman was deathly pale, and even unconscious she kept shivering. I wrapped her in my own coat - she needed it far more than I did - and wondered what to do.

The area was sparsely populated, and the nearest hospital was a good distance off. What's worse, I hadn't thought to bring a cell phone out here just to look at the stars. It was a short walk to the house, but I didn't want to leave this poor woman out here alone. And carrying her there would not be easy either, in the black of night, carrying someone the whole way, the path would prove treacherous. But it was a fool's hope that one of the neighbours would hear a cry for help out here, with the roar of the ocean right behind me. None of my options seemed good, but I had to do something!

Stay with the woman.
Carry the woman to the house.
Race back alone to get help.
Something else.
