Yet you still refuse to roleclaim, are you suicidal? Isaac Send a noteboard - 09/08/2013 07:04:40 PM

View original post
View original post1) He was originally flagged as suspicious for minimal participation, considered an anti-town action. He came up lowest in 4 methods:

View original postI did- was busy at work, and since not much conversation had happened, I hadn't made a substantial post yet.

That's not rebuttal it is an excuse, you could have posted RBIRL, of course you might not know what the term means, it hasn't been in use quite as long as "bussing" and I'm not if you ever asked and were told what it means.

View original post
View original post2) Upon coming up topping all those methods he posted in to hypothesize about game make up, at which point I felt his suggestions strongly implied he possessed some game relevant information as the suggestions were otherwise random and counter-indicated by the minimal knowledge of the game we had. The principle theories raised focused on multiple scum factions, a rare thing in a game of this size and while grounds for a mod to want many players to help absorb the extra night kills it is very definitely not a reason for a Mod to want 12 players. All options focused on an abnormally powerful scum faction(s).

View original postWhat I find interesting is that, despite your criticisms, no one has been able to come up with a good reason that Bergioyn asked for specifically 12 players. And I stand by my point that if it was as simple as "doc, cop, and some townies" vs "scum and a roleblocker," that he would not need a specific number- 11 or 13 is just as workable.

No one knows why as we have no evidence as to why, all of us could speculate wildly about it, he may simply have wanted a classic 12 player game, there are a virtually unlimited number of scenarios which fit it, I could fill pages with them and none would have anything to back them up, hence why I haven't speculated and why I think most haven't, beyond what many of us have said which is that we don't know what is going on. You either know something and are now lying about it or were speculating totally at random to know conceivable gain for the town. You could have simply stopped at saying "12 seemed important, we might want to consider why?", now apparently some others hadn't already noticed that, I assumed most of us caught that before the game began, so I may have been overly harsh by assuming everything you said was totally pointless but your reactions after that have increasingly led me to believe you're lying.

View original postMy post was based on guesswork and extrapolation- which, for Day One, is pretty much all there is to go on.

View original post
View original post3) He accused me, on the grounds I clearly thought he knew something, though he claims to know nothing. This accusation to be logically coherent would require A) That he had guessed and guessed correctly and B) That I was a scummer and C) that I would believe he had not guessed and D) That with all of these I would tip my hand so out of character and incredibly clumsily of fashions. All 4 of these improbable conditions must be true for his accusation to be viable, and thus far he has not even confirmed the first one, he has not yet denied having extra knowledge and has IMO sought to imply he did even as he presents an accusation that can only be true if he does not.

View original postI accused you because you were being uncharacteristically aggressive. We don't need the universe to form a once in a lifetime conflux for you to be scum. It's just as simple to say:

Uncharacteristically aggressive? The overwhelming majority of Day 1 lynches has been initiated and prosecuted by either myself or FT, I suspect if you added them up we'd each have more than every other player, present or past, combined. How could I even be uncharacteristically aggressive, I have in the past actually threatened to kill players if they did not vote with me, and done it too. I'm pretty sure in order to be uncharacteristically aggressive I'd have to do as Danny suggested earlier and actually show up at a players house with baseball bat in hand.

View original posta)That you saw me post something that you thought you could seize on

Problem here, I seized on it, but not to accuse you, I considered you're remarks to be strongly indicative of more info and asked for it, if my tone was abrupt it was related to us spinning our wheels trying to find information only to find out a player who hadn't been posting seemed to have what we needed. That's not accusation, that's inquiry.

View original postb)That for whatever reason (either that I hit close to home, or that I was simply a target of opportunity) you figured the best defense was a strong offense

Best Defense? No one was even accusing me except Danny and he's been accused by others for his accusation. What could I possibly have needed to defend myself from?

View original postI haven't implied I have any extra knowledge beyond the ability to do simple arithmetic.

Well that's a lie, you've outright said you've got the special ability to read my motives and alignment, but in terms of game knowledge, I disagree. I think you intentionally were trying to call game options into play. The alternative, that you claim is true, is hardly more flattering, after being threatened with death for non-participation to avoid it you spewed out several random unsupported theories that served zero purpose but to distract us.

View original post
View original post4) He was asked by multiple players to role claim, a customary request when one is considered a primary lynch candidate, which is obviously the case. He was also reminded that any delay would damage the credibility of his claim, he has neither roleclaimed nor offered any defense or reason why he should not.

View original postI believe "roleclaim" has come up... twice? Ranagrande just (as in, TODAY) asked for one, and I believe someone mentioned it at the beginning of your attack. I'll respond to ranagrande shortly, and I ignored the original one because it was early in the day, and there was no particular push for a roleclaim (and I had other posts to respond to)

Twice? It was 7 when you wrote this and 6 when rana said 'several', 4 directly asking and two by voting with us. Ranagrande said "Several people have called for a roleclaim from beet", and he was right. Every vote on you, (4 - me, FT, Yuna, Fox ), backs a request for a roleclaim, then there's Rana, 5, and Hobo, 6, and Artsapat, 7.

That leaves Praz, ST (silent), Danny (RBIRL) and Taiga. 7 of 11 have either voted for your, demanded an RC, or both. We may safely assume the people voting for you want an RC too. That leaves 4 players, and we can drop the 2 who are both quiet and new, leaving PRaz and Taiga, neither of whom have defended you, 7-0 demanding an RC.

View original post
View original post5) In his remarks he referenced being 'bussed', a term regularly used here and exclusively to refer to when a scummer votes for another scummer. Revealing slips of this nature are not unheard of even very rare, but may be sheer accident so he was asked to explain it. Rather than claiming it was an innocent slip of words he instead claimed the term did not mean that, and replied evasively when told by the two most senior players that it only means that, including citations of the mafiascum wiki and a post where he himself asked what the term meant and was told, in absolutely unambiguous language, what the term meant, by the moderator of the game herself. He was also challenged to find any use by any player if the term in which his definition was used or even a definition other than the one given. He has not done so, instead claiming that even taking note of the usage is 'grasping at straws', this is not a proper offense but is instead an attempt to discredit the accusation rather than justify his own actions.

View original postThis entire point is laughable. What it boils down to is that I mixed up the meanings of "bussed" and "bandwagoned." I apologize that the instruction I received 4 years ago (from a mod nonwithstanding) was not seared into my brain.

I'm pretty sure I learned what the term "Internet" meant more than 4 years ago, but its constant reinforcement makes that timeline irrelevant. The word "Bussing" has been used 98 times and "bussed" 53 times since we came to RAFO, you presumably after being told what it meant might have forgotten. But bringing up the 4 year ago incident proves you inquired and were told by an unimpeachable source you'd have read, that's hwy that matters, you keep trying to wave it away but it establishes you knew, now you're claiming to have forgotten but to do that you'd have had to misundertand it being referenced 150 times since then, not even including simple uses of "Bus" which appears 100 more times. We've had about 20 games since then averaging around 4 days a game, meaning the term gets used about 3 times per game Day. You are claiming that in spite having it clearly and explicitly explained to you by the mod after you asked what it meant you not only forgot (improbable) but did so even with it coming up on average multiple times per game day.

Well, there is something laughable about the situation but I don't think it relates to my arguments.

View original post
View original post6) His entire defense now rests on a counter-accusation at myself,

View original postActually, my entire defense rests on the fact that I've done nothing wrong. My OFFENSE rests on the fact that anyone who's played with you should be able to realize that you have an agenda.

Of course I have an agenda, I should imagine everyone here does but me? Seriously? Hell, next you can defend yourself by claiming that water is wet.

View original postThis isn't an either-or, and the fact that you're trying to make it one further speaks to your duplicity.

This isn't either-or? You're the one who reacted to my - admittedly strongly worded - request for you to reveal any knowledge you had with accusations. You could have simply said, "Sorry if I implied special knowledge, I was thinking out loud. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew I was paying attention" and I would have glared at you with some suspicion, then shrugged and moved to other avenues.

View original postIsaac became aggressive towards me immediately after my big post. His entire case against me boils down to:

View original post- beetnemesis made a rambling post with some odd theories

View original postHis other points are just bits and pieces he's picked up to try to make it seem like he has a legitimate accusation.

4 votes plus 3 other players demanding an RC doesn't strike me as 'bits and pieces'
