Where is the Watch when you need them...
what do we have?

the victim was a dwarf (foreigner)
branded with a hippo (which is an important symbol of Ankh Morpork)
a building is smashed, supposedly with a battering ram. A ram doesn't seem a very morbporkian weapon, but that isn't a very valuable observation. I would associate it with barbarians or maybe trolls. However it also could be the Watch catching a thief, especially if Nobbs was on the premises...



They could have just smashed the building fell down. Considering Ankh-Morporkian masonry, it wouldn't even have taken them much effort.
