They tend to hit the hammer vote, the person who performs a NK, or more rarely the first voter. One's who go off from voting tend to be mafia, not town, and when town are effectively anti-town anyway since they are at least as likely to kill a townie as a DF. But I sincerely doubt Hopper is a bomb.

Anyway, there's also option 6, he's trying to kill himself because he thinks his role is potentially harmful, let's say he has some role similiar to Katie's role in game 8, or my own role in the very brief game 6 when I'd guessed accuratly I was a psycho cop. In such a case, a townie with an anti-town role might try for suicide, we have had a lot of players on both sides in the past 'take one for the team', and I could easily see someone from the crew getting a message like:

"An alien entity has taken over your brain, but is can only control your body during the night, when it kills, it can keep you from doing things, and last night put a compulsion on you not to talk about it, nor try to harm yourself. You are effectively a SK"

Claiming to be a DF would circumvent that. This is why I'm not asking him why he did it, he clearly did it deliberatly and is sticking with it. He could easily have a very good reason, new player or not. That's option 6, and still favors a lynch.
