Alessandro walked quietly through the streets, debating who to contact next. He heard a swift pair of feet running up behind him, and he turned, ready to do swift violence.

"My Lord Padre, My Master Goldenteeth wishes me to pass this message along to you." He bowed low at the waist, holding the sealed message out stiff armed.

The vampire took it, smiling and flicking the servant a silver coin as thanks. As the servant took off running, Alessandro opened the letter.



That was his decision, then. He would meet with Maite, a vampire almost as old as the King. She had unique powers that made her more dangerous than the average blood sucker.

As he walked, he found a fledgling vampire hunting the alleys. He knew exactly where Maite lived and hunted, and knew to avoid the streets she patrolled. Alessandro let the fledge live, not wanting to offend its Sire.

He crossed the city, and presented himself at Maite's door, knocking for admittance.
