I liked it. A lot Ellestra Send a noteboard - 25/05/2010 04:17:07 AM
I never had the problem the most people had. I didn't hate any of the characters. I liked Jack and Kate and Sawyer. I liked Locke and Claire and Ben. I liked even Ana-Lucia and Shannon and every other minor character. I loved when they all popped up in the finale or the episode before that. Last Tuesday I sqeed when I saw Mira Furlani. I loved that Shannon was back for the finale. And most of all I loved that we learned what happened to Rose and Bernard.

I loved that in the end it was a confrontation between Jack and Lock. The full circle. From the beginning there was this division between the Locke camp and Jack camp. In the end they switched places. Of course it was false Locke but the final fight took me back to all the Jack - Locke clashes. The funny part is I always was on the side of Jack. Even now when they completely switched stances.

I loved how in the end there was a full circle with Jack dieing in the same place he first awoken on the island with Vincent beside he just like back then, seeing his friends successfully flying back home. I was sure Jack will die ever since he accepted Jacobs offer. I thought he'd die in a fight. Then I thought he just died in that pulse. I liked the end much better.

The only thing I disliked about that storyline was the actual fight between Jack and Locke. Especially the second time. The moment when Locke was garbing for the rock. After the stabbing the first time Jack should've known better. Look at the hands. Good Kate came after him.

This however leads to another thing I loved - the team work. On the one side there was smoke monster and just him. Even Ben wasn't on his side. Despite the fact that Jack was such a central character in this it wasn't his victory. It was Desmond who made Man in Black mortal. It was Kate who shot him. It was Hurley who took over care of the Island. And all the others. With a little help from your friends. Too bad False Locke didn't have any. Or maybe good he didn't.

I liked that it was Hurley who became the caretaker of the Island in the end. I think he was the one. The one it always should've been. he was special. He saw dead people. Just like the Man in Black who was also to be the Island's caretaker. And I think that his laid back personality was better suited to this then anyone else. Not to mention he had Ben to deal with any trespassers. And he can go visit Bernard an Rose whenever he feels like it.

I suppose Desmond went back on the boat. It's also fitting - him finally sailing away. I was also glad the other managed to fly away. I was sure Richard wasn't dead. I also thought Lapidus survived. In sf noone is dead unless you see the body and even then you cannot be sure. Although this was more like fantasy. Still, I liked that in the end it was Kat, Sawyer and Claire - the original Losties and the other three - Frank, Miles and Richard were characters introduced later. Nice symmetry. All of that episode had nice symmetry.

I also liked the off Island story. I loved how the cue to remembering was facing the most important thing, the obsession all of them had. For many it was love but I liked even more the other ones. How for Clair and Kate it was Aaron - the boy they were both mothers too. Similarly for Jin and Sun - their daughter. For John Lock getting his legs back or more precise deciding he was worth it. For Jack facing his daddy issues. I suppose his and Juliet son was a way for both of them to deal with what their issues in life. For Jack it was being a better father then Christian was to him. And Juliet always wanted to be a mother.

I loved the reunions. I think Sawyer and Juliet was my favourite but I liked all the couples. I didn't like this meant they leave but this was the end after all. I would've preferred alternate reality. But that's just me - I find alternate realities much more realistic then afterlife. I think it's the atheist thing.

I loved that some decided to stay. Ben preferring to go back to Alex. He still has people to make amends to. Eloise knowing from the start but wanting to have those perfect family moments with Widmore and their son. Daniel allowed to be who he wanted not forced to a destiny that was to kill him by his own parents. I first unhappy that Penny was on the outside of the family this time but then I remembered she always wanted to be free of her father.?

In the end I was satisfied with the ending. I know many weren't but maybe because I never was the big fan. I was never over-invested in that series. I think it worked well as both story and the allegory. And I think it was a very appropriate ending.ith Jack dieing in the same place he first awoken on the island with Vincent beside he just like back then, seeing his friends successfully flying back home. I was sure Jack will die ever since he accepted Jacobs offer. I thought he'd die in a fight. Then I thought he just died in that pulse. I liked the end much better.

Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.

Stupidity doesn't hurt but it kills.
