Alas, though, I am unable to dedicate any time to reading lately, what with school (yes, I am a fool, I am taking Spring/Summer semester classes), and the fact that I have been having some nasty vision problems, which hopefully I will be having corrected as soon as I can afford to buy some glasses. Used to have perfect eyesight, now not so much.

But, Camilla, I promise that as soon as I have the time to read a book for myself and not for class, I will read that one. I promise.

you might want to read The Gone-Away World. It is, incidentally, the next book club on the books board, so you are in luck. Definitely (post)-apocalyptic. In a way.
