Holy shit.
So. I don't quite know what to say.
I did not see that coming.
Could it be that the jacket Doctor will save "our" Doctor in some way? Can the theory still be salvaged?
Sure - it would explain who has been messing with the Tardis all series.
I am confused.
So, Rory is not really alive. And Amy is dead?
No, Rory was a Nestene Auton, as were the rest of the Romans. We saw Amy shot - not the same as dead, perhaps... and it is worth bearing in mind for everything seen in this episode that a theme for this series that what is seen is rarely the reality.
I liked the Rory bit - it was too obvious it was him when it showed the Woman soldier volunteering.
And did the TARDIS explode at the end? It wasn't clear.
I didn't think it had actually exploded yet, just that it was on the verge of doing so. I presume that River Song still had her time travel device so was about to leap away... which leaves time for Doctor Mk 2 (assuming there is one) to unrig it and toddle off.
I need to gather my thoughts, I think. Hmmm.
Quite a few things were thrown out there in this episode - Amy Pond is at the centre of a lot. Why did the Tardis go to her home? Why is it all seeming centred around her wedding, even though Rory is seemingly written from time? The Doctor also made an interesting comment about her house - something about it having too many rooms for the size of it. Strange girl from a strange house where nothing is what it first seems.
The Doctor also seems to know he is skipping over important things, because he actually said so when he talked about the Amy centred strangeness.
The Tardis is an interesting one as well - the Baddies think they have got the Doctor worked out and trapped him. They also think the Doctor is the only person who can fly the Tardis - either they are right and River Song merely thought she was (Doctor Mk 2 made it look like she was) or they're just showing they don't know him and what abilities he has/ hasn't half as well as they think.
Over all though, I think it all goes back to Amy Pond and her mind... and the Doctor knows more than he is letting on - I wonder if his duck pond comment was a reference to the change from Amelia to Amy. She might now be Amy (after having grown up in a very dubious house with an absent aunt), like the duck pond is now just a pond, but she is still Amelia Pond to the Doctor, like the pond is a duck pond to the locals.
