so your appreciation for Torchwood might rise or fall, depending on whether you were planning on comparing the two.
But yes, it would probably make a lot more sense if you had seen Doctor Who. Torchwood gets better after a while, but if you are only two episodes in, it gets a lot worse first.
And, while cheesy, it was enjoyable. Since I was up too late, I watched some Torchwood too. I'll keep on going with both, but probably keep on with Dr. Who for now.
Some of the humor seems similar to the tone of Farscape to me, which was one of my all time favorite shows. I've been looking for something different to try. So far so good!
I haven't seen Farscape, but the important thing to remember with Doctor Who is that it is profoundly British (where Torchwood is much more American), in that it is very very tongue in cheek a lot of the time.
