Battlestar Galactica Dragonsoul Send a noteboard - 30/08/2010 02:39:58 PM
Okay, so I'm a huge Trek nerd, and Star Wars is okay too I guess. But I've been told by pretty much every sci-fi nerd I've ever met that Battlestar Galactica is the be all and end all of science fiction. Now having watched the first parts of season one, it just seems like kind of a rehash of Star Trek.

Granted, they're refugees and not really explorers, but the idea of traveling around the galaxy searching for stuff has kind of been done to death (hence DS9 and Voyager).

So what does everyone think, is it worth me watching the nexts 3 and a half seasons?

I prefer it to Trek because its emphasis is on characters, not technology. Zalis - 30/08/2010 03:09:39 PM 775 Views
It diverges quickly from Trek.... badassashaman - 30/08/2010 03:42:25 PM 740 Views
I second this - DO NOT watch The Plan. It really hurt my opinion of the series. *NM* Zalis - 30/08/2010 04:19:16 PM 317 Views
Haha is it like Star Trek: Nemesis? *NM* Dragonsoul - 30/08/2010 06:05:47 PM 336 Views

Seasons 1 and 2 were awesome. Seasons 3 and 4 were loads of weird, metaphysical crap. *NM* Aemon - 30/08/2010 03:53:40 PM 324 Views
I watched four episodes and got bored. Ghavrel - 30/08/2010 04:44:06 PM 915 Views
That's a legitimate complaint. Zalis - 30/08/2010 05:53:57 PM 775 Views
isn't that the "big hard choice" in EVERY piece of story-media? *NM* LadyLorraine - 30/08/2010 07:26:40 PM 348 Views
Same problem I've had so far. Dragonsoul - 30/08/2010 06:02:26 PM 713 Views

well it is remake of a series that predates DS9 and Voyager so I don't think it is derivative random thoughts - 30/08/2010 09:53:01 PM 723 Views
No no I cited DS9 and Voyager as examples of how.... Dragonsoul - 30/08/2010 10:57:45 PM 701 Views

Did you watch the miniseries? It's awesome. Chas - 30/08/2010 11:06:19 PM 702 Views
Was the miniseries the 3 hour special leading up to the first episode of season one? *NM* Dragonsoul - 30/08/2010 11:49:55 PM 301 Views
I'm guessing yes. Did Six kill a baby? *NM* Chas - 02/09/2010 12:57:05 AM 314 Views
I never thought of it as anything like Star Trek, other than both being set in space. *NM* TaskmasterJack - 31/08/2010 01:46:13 AM 304 Views
