Do you like either ordinary metal or progressive rock, then? Legolas Send a noteboard - 21/11/2010 02:40:31 AM
My taste is all over the place as well. I have liked what I have heard of Queensryche but when I go music shopping I never see their cds and I forget about them until somebody mentions them again. "Best I Can" is up my alley. "Silent Lucidity" not so much.

Ah, well. I love Silent Lucidity. But my knowledge of Queensrÿche songs is just as limited as that of Dream Theater songs: i.e. limited to the greatest hits CD.
I like their lyrics, or at least the ones I have heard. They seem to put a lot of thought into what they are saying.

Yeah, I've seen them described as "the thinking person's metal", and they do often have more depth than many metal songs. They're still not exactly Dylan, but within the genre they're pretty good lyrics-wise.
The "Best of" album sounds like a good way to go. I will have to see if they have it at our local Barnes and Nobel. Thanks for the tip.

I should add that it's actually called "Greatest Hit (...and 21 other pretty cool songs)". I guess they thought "Greatest Hits" or "Best Of" was too cliché.
