Overall very good but with some dud moments- there were a few changes and most worked and I know that you can't fit everything you want into an adaptation. But the Others scene in the book seemed more suited for tv than this version to me. The wolf Cubs were only around sparsely although i understand why. Dany's scene change may set a bad tone for some viewers but taken in the context of a condensed story, it wasn't actually as huge a change from the summation of her early relationship with Drogo as was made out by many.
People have complained about the added scenes, but I think both were necessary. Some character tones have been changed but not particularly detrimentally. I would have loved more exposition and detailed conversation, but i understand how many viewers would not and that it would make the series far too long. An intro covering what happened in the Rebellion would have been good but I suppose they wanted facts to be slowly released over time so viewers don't have to remember everything revealed at once, which is why I guess Tyrion had limited face time and we didnt really more than meet Theon and the Hound briefly.
The acting was good. No main character struck me as off. Some people have said rather strangely than Sansa isnt attractive enough. She is meant to be pretty but still very young and not yet beautiful in the books. I would describe her actress as pretty and she is only 14-15, and I think she will be perfect for the role. Plus complaining that a 13 year old character with a 15 year old actress isn't attractive enough (when she clearly has the potential to be very beautiful) is both creepy and unfair.
Arya, Bran, Viserys and Jaime were perfect. The ending was well done I think, even if the overtones were slightly altered from the book. I will enjoy this season but cannot wait until later seasons when I actually started to like the story. I hope they have already written music for the Rains of Castamere

And the answer came to her instantly: pride. Oh, you hear them say it's a sin; you hear them say it goes before a fall. the shepherd prides himself on keeping the wolf out from the flock. We pride ourselves on making a good history of our lives, a good story to be told.

Poopy was kinda strong language. It is a matter of taste and Aemon is my new favorite.
