I realized that when I watch this show live, seeing Nikita after Vampire Diaries kinda ruins my enjoyment, because Vampire Diaries is frequently so intense, I need a breather - to walk away and let it sink in.
I really liked this episode. The entire series has been extremely consistent in its quality. At this point, I'm actually wishing they would slow down the pace a little bit. I wish Katherine had been used more; I think she's so badass (standing in a shaft of light of her own volition? definitely the strongest willed character on the show), but too quickly she moved from being dangerous and the Big Bad to just a pawn.
So, in this episode. Bonnie was cool, finally. Elena's acting was awesome; when she looks at Stefan, narrows her eyes and says "We're going to kill him, right?" is great, and I felt her pain when Klaus was going a Sophie's Choice on her for a moment there. I'm looking forward to more Tyler+Caroline next season.
So at the end of the ep, everything they feared and wanted to prevent actually happened. And where does this leave Katherine?
