This is more like the US version of the Office, or to use a less encouraging analogy, the US version of "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" An adaptation of a foreign property that many Americans wouldn't see, just because foreign language films are generally not widely-viewed



For me, this brings to mind Let the Right One In and Let Me In. Heard decent/good reviews about Let Me In, but at the time, I had just seen Let the Right One In (because, like GWDT, these movies are only a couple of years apart) and I loved it. I felt no need to see an American version, at least not yet, but that's coming from someone who doesn't mind reading and watching a movie at the same time...

I have faith in Fincher, though. He certainly knows what he's doing with the director role, but I'll see the originals first and decide from there.
