And was disgruntled when I heard it (because I agree with your above statement).

I guess I thought about Lafayette on True Blood, and used that example in my head when I heard about it (since he dies early in the books, but is one of the main supporting characters in the series)

I'm glad he died though. It needed to happen for the story.
