Missed the first few dances. Jordan had been one of my favorites in the auditions, I didn't see that dance.
Loved:
#10 - Iveta & Nick - ballroom quickstep. Totally got shivers, it was SO good. And a fairly straight forward dance as well, no flips, nothing fancy, just classical quickstep moves (so it seemed to me), but it left me in awe.
I like Iveta a lot. She's a badass.
#8 - Melanie & Marko, the statue dance. Some really perfect moments there, very beautiful.
It was excellent. I think it helps a lot when they have a really good song to go with the dancing. I also loved the concept.
I thought her movements were particularly beautiful.
#9 - Ashley & Chris - the hip hop to "forget you." Ashley, whom we knew nothing about, was really good at hiphop. I enjoyed this a lot.
I think its weird that they haven't talked about Ashley at all either. I really like her.
#6 - Clarice & Jess - jive. Very fun & enjoyable, Jess has tons of charisma, and he's a fantastic dancer. Like Mary, I was bouncing in my seat throughout, along with the dancers.
I don't think this is Jess you're talking about. The dance with the go-go boots (the jive) or the broadway one? Because Jess was in the broadway one, which was also amazing.
You're right, I totally mixed them up. Oh well.
Didn't care for -
The other hip hop with Ryan. Hip hop? Nope, it wasn't. They weren't doing it right.
It was "lyrical" hip hop, so that's probably why it was less hip-hoppy than the other one. I thought the dude was stronger than the girl though - she kept making weird facial expressions that didn't really match the tone of the overall piece.
No, that's not it. Even the hip hop parts, they weren't hitting at all. There's plenty of examples of lyrical hip hop done right.
