This has absolutely nothing to do with percentage of the whole, that's an absurd metric. Looking up a list of long running television series on wiki, I see that All My Children has over 10 309 episodes, your touted 2% of which would be over 206 episodes. You will no doubt be shocked to learn that I judged my disinterest in the series in far, far less than that. You, of course, would certainly never make such a judgment. I don't know how many hundreds of episodes you would have to watch before you found yourself capable of determining whether you liked it or not, having no real indication of how slowly your brain works.
I gave the show the opportunity to go through several scenes that could and should have drawn my interest, and none of them did. That is how I based my judgment. I didn't decide "well, this series has fifteen minutes to make me like it", that would be utterly ridiculous. I drew judgment after 15 minutes because the series had given me enough material to make that judgment in fifteen minutes.
Now for another thing, you and others seem so desperate to defend this series that you need to delude yourself into thinking it is under attack. I never judged whether the show was good. You are correct in saying that the little I watched is largely insufficient to determine this. What I said was that I did not like the series. Appreciation is a measure of personal enjoyment of something's qualities. It is not a judgment of quality. While I am certain that you know of this distinction, you have chosen to ignore it in order to fuel your desire for self-righteous indignation.
It's staggering that even though many people urged me to reconsider, Cannoli was the only one to actually respond to the reasons why I did not like it and try to offer arguments to persuade me to actually revise my judgment. I never thought I'd say this, but you should try to act more like Cannoli.
Now, see what you've done?

As a reader of the books, I think HBO series is good, but not great.

It's like a different interpretation. Why watch the Disney cartoons, when you know those stories?
