There was Buffy, of course. Angel, which actually gained a much different tone as it matured. Firefly the space-western, Dollhouse (whose second season I really should watch one of these days).

(after a quick trip to IMDB) ...and apparently he wrote Titan, A.E. and some episodes of Rosanne.
I guess you could say he has a signature style- he likes banter, he likes musical episodes, he obviously likes having an element of sci/fi or fantasy in his work- but it's not like everything he's written has been about fighting monsters in high school.
(As for Popular, I kind of remember it. I remember it being pretty funny, especially because it came out during that first boom of teen dramas that took themselves wayyyyyy too seriously.)
