But it doesn't change the fact that they are whining and complaining about something one artist does, but still think Tolkien is the patron saint of fantasy lit.
What really trips me up is all the people I know in real life who consider themselves anything BUT conservative, but the moment Lucas makes another change in Star Wars they all start acting like the Dixie-Crats when LBJ pushed through the Civil Rights bills.
None of the changes Lucas has made to SW really changes ANYTHING (even the whole bullshit thing with Han or Greedo shooting first really is a SO THE FRAK WHAT situation that has no real bearing or effect on the rest of the story).
would be that the vast majority of the people on this site, and the vast majority of sci-fi/fantasy geeks on the internet, aren't old enough to have known the original version of the Hobbit before it was changed.

He went back and made a bunch of changes to "The Hobbit" in preparation for the publication of tLotR. He even discusses the changes in a forward to the newer version of the Hobbit.
But I've never once heard fans complaining about this.

Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.

Do you mean VHS? Or perhaps you don't equate "Original" to what the rest of us do.

I'm pretty sure that Han shoots first in the DVDs we have, but I'll have to check.

The answer is to ignore the Blu-Ray release and buy the 2006 release instead.
