That certainly was a surprise! I wonder if I was right in my guess that the eyepatch lets you see the silent aliens and not forget about them.

I wonder if this means that your "Rory turns evil" theory has some basis in fact. Thought it does not explain at all why the Doctor would put one on. Why would he join a war against himself? Hmm hmm hmm ...


Rory does not have to be evil to wear an eyepatch. They would be effective in any setting where you would need to be able to think continuously about and encounter the Silence.
