On a separate note: how in the hell was Carl even shot??

The bullet went straight through the deer into Carl. It wasn't angled. And He was standing not 5 feet away. Could the fat ass whatever-his-name-is really not see him through the scope of his rifle standing right in the bullet's path? I'm still upset that the writers had such oversight on this point that it's near impossible to not see him. Should have made it Merle who shot him.
Go Hokies!

You'd think someone would have seized on her sniper incident as a teachable moment to make her chill

I thought the same thing, but I'm okay with it. Dusk, Otis was tired, the boy is small, etc. *NM*

The child was opposite the deer from Otis and male deer are rather large obstructions.

It would bug me if Merle's ghost had too much of an impact on Daryl
