Episode 1: The doctor leaps through plot holes and dodges paradoxes to save a race of intelligent pencil sharpeners from certain doom at the hands of a recently mutated ball of timey-wimey cosmic ooze.
Episode 2: The doctor must figure out how to set his sonic screwdriver to "deus-ex-machina-maximum" mode before the earth is overrun with malevolent sneeze spirits.
Episode 3: The doctor is trapped in a mysterious dimension for ill-explained reasons. His only hope for escape is to rip the dimension apart by vividly imagining all of the sandwiches he's ever eaten.
Generalized extension to all future episodes: The doctor must do something nonsensical in order to solve a contrived problem (usually involving a monster of the day based on whatever the costume designer could scrounge from the local thrift store) through use of absurd plot devices and £12.88 worth of special effects. He will engage in at least one heartwarming/tearjerking moment which you're supposed to take seriously in spite of the fact that there's a living trashcan shooting lasers a few feet away.
