And yet the show has just created a revival of French ye-ye pop after one episode. The hiatus was definitely too long, but the show is now back and seems to be as good as ever. Did anyone else watch the premiere?
Really great drama, even better when watched lounging with a good single malt.
But it's not a series I feell much a need to discuss afterward (not on the net, anyway - I get my fill of Madmen discussion at the advertising agency, as you might guess) and beside, AMC Canada is not available in Québec, so by the time I'll download an epiosde via i-tune, I'm always behind, and I avoid threads about it not to have it spoiled.
I know what youre talking about with the yé-yé number in the first episode though, all too well. The actress playing Draper's fiancée is from Montréal, so they brought it up all day and that damn song got played on about five radio shows through the day. Not a revival here, however. Yé-yé is one those things that won't go away, much like 60s' rock and roll in the US (it's somewhat worse, we're stuck with both the originals and the French covers, plus the original !French stuff. Not a big fan of the sixties's pop music)
It really looks like no one watches Mad Men based on the absence of discussion.

I intend to, at some point. Though as Stephen notes, the DVDs are expensive. *NM*

People buy DVDs? I thought everything was streaming or Blu-Ray now.

I'm still hoping Blu-Ray will go the way of the betacam.

Not much to say. Everyone's an asshole, so you watch it without caring or getting involved.

Yes, but that role still fits the common thread of casting and how it relates to Mad Men

I think you're selectively remembering roles for many of the cast members.

I've never seen more than about 3 minutes of an episode. The idea is not interesting to me. *NM*
